Think the Internet Is Setting Us Free? Better Watch This Interview

Julianna Forlano of www.AbsurdityToday.com interviews author/professor Bob McChensey, co-founder of FreePress.net and one of my faves. This is well worth the 12:20 of your time. (I also thank Nicole Sandler of RadioOrNot.com for awakening me to Julianna's work. Juliana appears on Nicole's 10 - noon ET weekday show most Thursdays. I watch or listen to Nicole most days via her YouTube live stream and/or Stitcher podcast or via iTunes podcast+ and suggest you subscribe to both Nicole and Julianna.)

Comment re FOX

Considering the manufactured brouhaha over "Fast and Furious", I think instead of FOX so-called News, as Thom Hartmann refers to them, it is high time we start saying FOX Propaganda Network. [also posted to my Facebook page]

Weiner Follow-Up

For those not privy to my Facebook page or yet a fan of BlueRootsRadio.com, I just posted this Note on Facebook:

Amidst supportive and hateful comments, I just posted this into an open thread on the Facebook political page of Representative Anthony Weiner concerning the Conflicted Justice Clarence Thomas:

BlueRootsRadio.com compiled a lot of great Tweet retorts within the June 6th comments under the more compelling (for the American people) Wisconsin Tent City story which the corporate media will drown out by news of Weiner. See: http://bluerootsradio.com/?p=6330#comments - One of the consistent great tweeters was @theBradBlog who also retweeted another singular tweet: @DCdebbie: "BREAKING: A second dick picture emerges from #Weinergate revealing something the media has never before reported on http://yfrog.com/edk9p7j" Apt.

I then added this follow-up comment to my Facebook Note:

My thanks to Christopher Johnson and Toni DiPego and their bloggers for their work on BlueRootsRadio.com, a great home for roots music and progressive information and dialog.

Am saddened by the tragic flaw(s) of Representative Anthony Weiner but love me my BlueRootsRadio! It sustains my spirit when all else fails.

Reinstate Keith Olbermann

[FYI -- Griffin's voice mail is currently full BUT his number is 212-664-2456]

To Mr. Phil Griffin - phil.griffin@nbcuni.com

Dear Sir -- Keith Olbermann is a treasure who should be prized not absurdly disciplined.

As I forwarded via an NBC comment page --

I am outraged that Keith Olbermann has been suspended because of his exercising his freedom of speech by making several relatively small political contributions. After all, corporations can spend millions, including FOREIGN corporations, in our elections, thanks to Citizens United vs FEC. And Pat Buchanan has made a number of political donations. Yet Olbermann cannot??

I am outraged. NBC and MSNBC will be on my “list” if this holds.

Most sincerely,

Kate Anne ______

And as Randi Rhodes said on her show the NBC contract (and isn't Keithreally MSNBC?) says a clause that such contributions “may jeopardize his or her standing as an impartial journalist” should NOT apply to Keith as no one would likely call him an impartial journalist.

Again -- please reinstate Keith Olbermann or there will and must be consequences from those who love and respect him.

And for God's and our country's sake speak up against the outrageous political contributions made following the Citizens United vs the FEC disgusting Supreme Court decision.

Again, most sincerely,

Kate Anne

How dare he print exact quotations?

"The one thing that this enemy's list shows is that Bill O'Reilly's biggest fear. and all the folks at Fox, is accountability and fact based journalism."

-- Media Matters for America "chief character assassin" and president Eric Burns on Keith Olbermann's Countdown, 03-19-09, honorable mention in the list of Worst Left Wing Smear Merchants

McBush and Folksy Palin endorsed by SNL's GWB

I was at the FreePress.net's 2008 internet Freedom Bash party last night so didn't see it live but George W. Bush endorsed McCain-Palin on Saturday Night Live's Thursday edition last night, with help from Will Ferrell and Tina Fey.

See Dubya, see McCain, or as my friend Judy Young Brannan from Kent Ohio put it: McBush!!! From Judy:

Check It Out: ProjectCensored.org

AAR's Richard Greene had a guest from Project Censored on his Clout show last night to discuss the new top 25 stories overlooked by the corporate media. (Richard would have you not call it the mainstream media, because we are really the mainstream -- support media diversity and internet neutrality to preserve our Clout!) Check it out -- and I will, too!
