Snow Days ~ Over the Years

Who doesn't want to keep a few snowy memories accessible? Here's snow stuff from Queens, New York City, NY as well as some Ohio photos, complete with a tree-view from a condo window. The music iPhone provided, nice beat. Quickly presented and it may have been inadvertently edited. Perhaps there will be a Take 2.

 YES -- let's try it HERE: https://youtu.be/EZFmDoNr8sU

Ariana Gillis - Dream Street [Official Music Video]

It has been five years since Ariana Gillis posted this on YouTube -- it still haunts me, still a favorite. My thanks to Chris Johnson at BlueRootsRadio.com for introducing her to me. He's back on Live365 and you should give BlueRootsRadio a try. Stream it for free! (And I wonder if Ariana has lived up to her promise. Must do some Research.)

Alan Rickman - Truly Madly Deeply

I miss and am still mourning actor Alan Rickman who died this past January. This is a favorite moment, a song from the movie Truly Madly Deeply, which seems apropos, missing Alan, here performing with Juliet Stevenson. "The sun ain't gonna shine anymore" but there IS some sunshine on YouTube.

Lord Of The Dance - Jim McCann

This is one of my favorite Celtic sounding songs sung by the awesome Jim McCann who I just learned died this past March 5, 2015 at the age of 70. He had lost his beautiful voice to throat cancer in 2002 after a remarkable singing career, including a stint with The Dubliners. He lives on in such music. Thanks, Jim, for sharing your gift with the world!

Who is Bernie Sanders? Watch:

This 9:07 minute mini-documentary on Senator Bernie Sanders from YouTube's The Daily Conversation deserves to be given more play and will answer some of the questions of my friends who wonder about his background and why I support him for President of the United States of America in 2016. #FeelTheBern

God in the 21st Century: Bishop John Shelby Spong at UO

When you have 53 minutes, this is well worth hearing. [I wonder what else the UOregon / University of Oregon has in its YouTube files.]

Pete Seeger - "Forever Young"

Legendary Pete Seeger recites Forever Young with a chorus of kids and great music backing him up. Such spirit and love emanating from him to the children and by extension to us. His banjo's quotation reads, "This machine surrounds hate and forces it to surrender": more peaceful than Woody Guthrie's guitar. This video is thanks to Amnesty International. Aaron's Last Wish 43 - Bank 253 and Hillbilly Days in Pikeville

Great how the blue grass music/dancing begins this episode of Aaron's Last Wish then the closeup on the stressed out server and the remarkable change wrought, thanks to the spirit of the late Aaron Collins and his brother Seth Collins, closing with the music/dancing: very uplifting for anyone with a real heart. Watch and smile and spread Aaron's legacy. You don't need $500 for your generous tip or gesture, just do what you can to spread good will. For more information, see the Facebook Page and/or read Tina Rae Collin's Aaron Collins Did That and/or AaronCollins.org.

Van Jones Reacts to Keystone XL Report

MUST WATCH -- "The Obama Tar Sands Pipeline should not be the legacy of a President who gave that speech," says Van Jones. Canadians have blocked the dirty corrosive tar sands route west. A Canadian company wants to threaten US environment offering a few temporary jobs so they can sell the oil to China. Meanwhile the State Dept. lies about the possible impact. This is so wrong!! ~ h/t to Toni DiPego of Proligarchy.com blog for link.

A must see: Les Misérables. My brother David said the Broadway musical pushed all the right buttons and certainly this film clip does too, with the haunting "I Dreamed a Dream" [sung by Anne Hathaway] and those great cinema angles.

Did Anonymous stop Karl Rove from Stealing Ohio again?

Thom Hartmann speaks about the Voter Integrity people's concern with Ohio where they anticipated voter theft would happen (again) in 2012. Did Anonymous prevent it? Thom references both an article in Wonkette and a report in Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman's FreePress.org site entitled Why Rove failed to deliver Ohio on Election Day: What happened in Ohio – this time around. Curiouser and curiouser.

Stay Away From Social Security

President Barack Obama needs to echo strongly this winning message given so aptly by Vermont (and America's) Senator Bernie Sanders on Eliot Spitzer's show. Tax breaks to the wealthy don't help the American economy nor the American people. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid: these help We the People who need help. Let's be a WE Society, not a ME Society.

Chris Hedges: The Absurdity of American Empire

Chris Hedges, co-author with Joe Sacco of Days of Destruction, Days of Revolt was interviewed by Laura Flanders of GritTV. Wake up, America! We are living in days of inverted corporate totalitarianism: Resist. Right now the sacrifice is high in West Virginia but the corporations' fracking and drilling is poisoning our water, killing our fish, destroying all of US.

Nuns on the Bus: Faith, Family and Fairness

Just caught up on this: An ENTHUSIASTIC Nun on the Bus Sr. Simone Campbell who spoke at the Democratic National Convention was interviewed by Rev Welton Gaddy for State of Belief Radio in July: GREAT interview in spirited audio and transcript forms. LISTEN if you have time: GOOD STUFF!

For those who must have video, Sr. Simone Campbell was interviewed by Rev. Welton Gaddy in a shorter interview AT the Democratic Convention:

And then there was Sr. Simone speaking to the convention:

NOW go back to State of Belief audio interview: even better than the convention speech.
