Great to see Senator Bernie Sanders enter the race of President. Announcing last week, Bernie received $1.5 million from 35,000 donors in the first 24 hours and people ARE responding. He appeared on Maddow Monday evening:

GOP WA Representative Maureen Walsh Remarks on ESSB 6239

Republican Washington State Representative Maureen Walsh heartfully speaks about marriage equality. Rachel Maddow featured this touching speech on her Feb. 9th show: simple and powerful, an example of the personal as political.

Chris Hayes: Strategic Mortgage Defaults - contracts are for...

Great reporting from The Nation's Chris L. Hayes and reason for follow-up: Wealthy people strategically walk away from underwater mortgages [when a homeowner owes more than the place is worth] but big banks want to force the rest of us to sink or swim in deep water and pay up so they can make money on OUR backs. "Contracts are for 'little people'." (When Chris is there, I don't miss Rachel Maddow quite so much. He does great stuff!)

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow - Prof. Riki Ott: the health threat to Gulf Oil...

The health concerns mount for people in the areas where the oil from the Gulf Oil Gusher a/k/a oil spill (too slight of a word). This interview of Professor Riki Ott by Rachel Maddow is one which people must note and act upon. Legislators and President Obama must be contacted to move on more protection for workers and residents alike. BP cannot be allowed to trivialize this.

Maddow: Koch Ind. tries pre-emptive denial, busted for Tea Party instigation

Happy Tax Day Night! Take a look at this information about the not-so grass rootsy Tea Bagger errr Tea Party Tax Day events -- funded by corporations. MSNBC's Rachel Maddow gives some interesting insight in just over 5 minutes. Worth a gander. (Thank you, FireDogLake, for sharing this clip.)

Rachel Maddow - outrageous corporate thuggery behind anti-health care 'activists'

The average middle class millionaires and lobbyists of RecessRalley.com ralleying people against healthcare reform are uncovered -- proving once more that this isn't grassroots but astroturf, and those little guys buying in and spreading the mission are crabgrass [thanks, Dan Jacoby!]. Outrageous indeed!

UPDATE: RecessRalley.com either got too many hits and/or has been shut down, thanks to Rachel Maddow shedding light on the average middle class millionaires behind the town hall hijacking. I've had fun googling RecessRalley.com. Thanks, FireDogLake.com for posting Rachel's video so quickly.

Chasers War on Everything - John Yoo

Kent Jones aired this Chasers War on Everything segment on Rachel Maddow's MSNBC show last night. It aptly questions John Yoo about torture. Stunning political theatre -- and I love the final comment about Human Rights. Only a minute and a half -- please give a listen.

Rachel Maddow: Indefinite detention? Shame on you... President Obama

Should we give to President Obama an authority we wouldn't trust to a President Bush or future Republican presidents? The policy of "preventive detention' is scary and leads us down a very slippery slope. I didn't vote for President Obama to have him legalize thought crimes or try to read my or anyone's mind. This is an outrage to traditional American values and sounds like something out of a scary science fiction movie. NO to preventive detention. (And how many people of color or liberals would be locked up by certain others following a variant of this policy??) No. No. No.

I have left the above comment on the White House comment form and urge others to do likewise and contact Congress, too. (Thanks, FireDogLake for the Rachel Maddow YouTube clip.) For more info, google and search Twitter, but also check out Glenn Greenwald here and here, especially and listen to his iTunes podcast with ACLU Attorney Ben Wizner on the subject. Also for clarity/focus/comments read Behind Blue Eyes' Obama Proposes Indefinite Preventive Detention without trial.   And remember to check for terms indefinite detention and prolonged detention. Bottom line: This is not peace-keeping, this is democracy erosion. I want my country back not a fascist America or a daddy state. Act, please.

End the Death Penalty

"We should not waste one instant, one day, one cent, one dime serving death."
- Gov. Martin O'Malley, (D) Maryland

Gov. O'Malley spoke out on his stand on Rachel Maddow's show last night as he continues to work to end the death penalty. Rachel noted the governor is part of Celtic Rock band, O'Malley's March.

Rachel Maddow - Lieberman gets more interesting

This provides additional commentary, including a great quotation from Senator Bernie Sanders.

"Where's the Bush?"

On her Air America Radio show last night, Rachel Maddow pointed out that no where on their website documenting their convention, did the Republicans acknowledge the speeches or even presence there of either George Bush or Laura Bush. The other speakers and speeches were there. Furthermore, NONE of the those speakers or speeches used the word Bush either. "Where's the beef, err Bush?"

A Question to ask McCain Supporters

"Are you aware that John McCain has nine houses and wears $520 shoes?" I'd love to see their reactions, dear blog friends! And hear what they have to say.

(Thanks to Rachel Maddow for the information.)

As a followup question you might ask did they know if he was dating wife #2 while wife #1 was hospitalized. Character, integrity, Republicans? (Mind you, this doesn't let John Edwards off the hook, but at least he is still with Elizabeth.) Ah, men!

Rachel Maddow: They Lied. Can we prosecute yet?

Air America Radio's (and MSNBC's) Rachel Maddow spoke of the Phase 2 results of the Senate investigation of the intelligence leading up to the Iraq invasion. Sure sounds like real grounds for impeachment and indictment of the Bush-Cheney cabal. Dare we hold off until after January 22nd? What if it is President McBush, err, McCain? Hear it for yourself and tell us and your friends what YOU think:

Theatrical Prelude to Super Tuesday

Lizz and Rachel 4

Following Air America Radio's Rachel Maddow's advice, I took time out from pure politics to enjoy a fun NYC theatrical event, starring her former co-host Lizz Winstead. Shoot the Messenger plays Mondays at the Green Door, 45 Bleeker, New York City. Rachel was the special guest for the Act 2 segment, so there was lots of talk of politics and Super Tuesday. Act 1 is this terrific Morning Talk Show spoof with hosts Davis Miles and Hope Jean Paul: wonderfully entertaining with hoots galore. See it!
